Indian Lake Community is a gated residential neighborhood with over 200 lots of various sizes surrounding a beautiful (100) acre lake in southwest Carroll County Tennessee. Many lots have great lake views while others are more private with mature trees. A large public dock, outdoor pavilion, and charcoal grills are available for property owners to enjoy. This quiet community has a wide variety of flora and fauna. The beautiful park-like neighborhood is located half way between Nashville and Memphis just off of highway 70 and just a short drive to several local small towns including; Huntingdon, Lexington, Clarksburg, Milan, and Medina. The city of Jackson is nearby with additional stores and restaurants.
Indian Lake is a Jimmy Houston (professional bass fisherman and T. V. personality) endorsed lake. It is managed by American Sport Fish Hatchery, the largest freshwater hatchery in the southeast with over 60 ponds on site at their hatchery in Montgomery, Alabama. They manage over 600 private lakes in several states.
The goal for Indian Lake is to provide quality and trophy opportunities for largemouth bass, crappie and bream. The focus continues to increase the fish population, improve the catch rates and allow for a higher harvest. The lake record is 10 lbs. 6 ozs. but, several bass are caught each year in the 7, 8 and 9 lb class. Crappie are frequently caught between 14” to 17” and weigh 1 to 2 pounds. Bluegills and shellcrackers are routinely caught in the 8” to 10” lengths, many being over a pound.
