About me:
My name is Shelly Bertelli and I have been the coordinator of the Buchanan County Success Center since 2009, working for Indpendence Schools since 2006. I recieved my BA in History from UNI in 1986. I live in Independence with my husband, Troy and our cat, Mr. Bigglesworth. We have one daughter in New York City and one daughter at the University of Iowa. I look forward to getting to know you and your families this year.
Welcome to BCSC! Our goals are to:
Provide a more individualized opportunity for learning which allows students to obtain a high school diploma.
Offer a quality education supported by technology, career, and post-secondary skill development, healthy lifestyle support, curriculum and services of Independence High School.
Involve students, staff, parents, family, and community in the educational program at BCSC.
We are an alternative program serving the communities of Independence, Jesup, and East Buchanan School Districts.
