The current radio astronomical interferometers, such as, for instance, LOFAR, ASKAP, MeerKAT, JVLA, uGMRT, and MWA, which are paving the way to the SKA, are providing breathtaking advances in our view of radio galaxies, galaxy clusters, and cosmic web.
The image quality and fidelity of the present observational facilities, as well as the state-of-the-art numerical simulations are unveiling unexpected details, which are challenging our knowledge.
It is timely to review our current understanding and open questions of the radio galaxy phenomenon, the relation between radio galaxies and the surrounding environment, and of the origin of diffuse emission in galaxy clusters and beyond.
The aim of this meeting is to review our knowledge in this field of research, present the new challenges we are facing and discuss scientific prospects over the next decade, in the light of the capabilities of the SKA. We encourage submissions related to the following topics:
- Peculiar radio emission associated to radio galaxies in different environments;
- New and/or new features and properties of diffuse radio sources in galaxy clusters;
- Non-thermal component outside galaxy clusters.

This meeting is organized to stimulate the submission of contributions to the Galaxy Special Issue entitled "A new window on the radio emission from galaxies, clusters, and cosmic web. Current status and perspectives". We encourage to submit also contributions which, for time restrictions, are not selected for a conference talk. The aim of this conference is to stimulate the submission of manuscripts for the associated Galaxies Special Issue. Following the publication rules of the journal you have to submit original contributions. You can propose a talk about your published work and therefore a manuscript to Galaxies (which is customary for all the speakers) if there are new contents. For example, if you will analyse some aspects which were not deeply investigated in your original paper, or if you will offer a new interpretation of the data, or again if new data can improve your results, then we definitely suggest you to propose a talk and submit a manuscript. Please, visit the Instructions for Authors page of Galaxies before submitting a manuscript.
Can I present a talk and submit a manuscript even if the results are still preliminary?
Yes, we encourage to present preliminary results.
Can I present a talk without submitting a manuscript to Galaxies?
No. This conference has been organized to stimulate the submission of manuscripts for the associated Galaxies Special Issue. All the speakers should submit a contribution to the Special Issue.
