How to interpret the observational results ? We are using semi-analytic models (GAEA, De Lucia et al. 2020) and hydrodynamical simulations (DIANOGA, Bassini et al. 2020) to analyse the physical processes responsible for the transformation of the galaxies in protoclusters at z≳2 into the mature and evolved galaxy population in massive galaxy clusters at z≲2.
We have carried out a detailed comparisons between the thermodynamical properties observed in the Spiderweb as well as in the z~1.5 massive cluster sample, and predictions from hydro-dynamical simulations, including the impact of different physical assumptions (Esposito et al. 2025)
