The Observatory in Merate is faster reached by car from many destinations.
If you prefer this option, consider that parking is available in the Observatory premises, but it would be better not to fill it up completely with single-used cars.
If you do not manage to fill up a car, or you are lacking a lift, we can arrange a collective spreadsheet to organise group cars, in order to reduce pollution, limit cars number, and better enjoy your trip to the Observatory in good company.
The Merate Observatory is served by two train lines and stations: Paderno-Robbiate is on the regional train line from Bergamo, while Cernusco-Merate is on the S8 train line, with trains from Milano and Lecco.
Buses can help you get closer to the Observatory, but they have sparse timetables and get at most to stops that are at a 20 minutes walking distance.
If you prefer to take the train to reach us, it's probably better to arrange for a lift by car from the station directly to the Observatory. If you cannot arrange for a lift, you may use the spreadsheet that we will provide.
