I am an illustrator, cartoonist and science communicator. After completing my PhD at Leiden University, where I studied the alignment of galaxies with the large-scale structures, I decided to turn to science communication and science visualisation.
I studied illustration at the International School of Comics in Turin and later completed a Master in Editorial Illustration, focusing on how images support and enhance verbal communication. Over the past few years, I have collaborated with universities and research institutions for press release images, educational materials and grant applications visual support. I also run workshops for children and adults that combine art and science.
In June 2025, I joined the INAF Arcetri Astrophysical Observatory, where I am doing a postdoc for the communication of the WST (Wide-field spectroscopic telescope).

I joined the FERRET (Focal planE laboRatoRy for tElescope opTics) group in Arcetri in January. After graduation in Pisa with a spectroscopic and polarimetric study of the accretion disk of the microquasar SS433, I worked for four years in the aerospace field designing, analyzing and testing opto-electronics instrumentation.
At Arcetri my research areas regard the design and development of aluminum optics for space telescopes and of high-resolution infrared spectrographs. In particular, I currently cover the role of System Manager for the Telescope Assembly of the ARIEL space mission and the AIV manager for the Integral Field Module of the ANDES Spectrograph, a second generation instrument for ELT (Extremely Large Telescope).
