My name is Francesco Salvestrini, and I am a post-doctoral researcher at the Italian National Institute for Astrophysics (INAF), working in the Extragalactic Group at the Astronomical Observatory of Trieste.
I devoted my career to studying the formation and evolution of galaxies, particularly those that host supermassive black holes at their center.
I am passionate about data analysis, which has led me to work on various projects covering a relatively wide range of topics within extragalactic astronomy. In particular, I collaborate on projects dedicated to understanding the properties of the interstellar medium (ISM) in galaxies with and without active galactic nuclei (AGN), both in the local and early Universe. This has allowed me to broaden my knowledge and gain a more comprehensive view of the coexistence and coevolution of AGN and their host galaxies.
