Docs by the Sea is an annual international documentary lab and forum based in Indonesia, supporting Asian projects through global collaboration and distribution opportunities. Its alumni have been selected for over 100 international forums and 200+ platforms.
From deeply personal journeys to urgent global issues, these documentary projects offer stories that inspire reflection, empathy, and meaningful conversations.
From emerging filmmakers to acclaimed industry professionals, more than 100 participants from around the world will gather in Bali for the Docs by the Sea 2026 industry events.
Meet inspiring people, gain real event experience, and be part of the team that makes this international film event happen. Along the way, you'll make new friends, learn new skills, and create memories that last long after the event end.
Meals provided for each on-duty shift. (Or meal allowances Rp 50k/day.)

6– 9 September 2026 (1 person)
You'll operate video cameras during the pitching forums, assist with lighting setup, and ensure microphones, sound systems, and other essential audiovisual equipment are properly set up and functioning throughout the event.
6– 9 September 2026 (2– 3 persons)
From assisting at the guest services desk and transporting supplies to setting up rooms and handling last-minute requests, you'll help keep everything running smoothly
1–6 and 9– 10 September 2026 (3–4 persons)
You'll be at the heart of the guest experience—welcoming filmmakers, coordinating arrivals, and making sure everyone has what they need throughout the festival.
For this edition of Docs by the Sea, In-Docs and Minikino are jointly recruiting Hospitality Volunteers. You may choose to volunteer for Docs by the Sea, Minikino Film Week, or both. Regardless of your choice, you only need to register once using the same application form.

Comfortable communicating in English (mandatory for hospitality volunteers).
Available to stay in the Badung or Denpasar area during the event.
Knowledge of, or interests in film (a plus, not mandatory).

28 August (at venue for hospitality crew)

5 September (at venue for Camera crew)
Work date 1–10 September (your schedule will be decided based on your position and availability)
