In-Depth Home Inspections

FAQ's

  1. How much will a home inspection cost? The average base price for the greater Onslow area is $350. That would cover the cost to inspect a single residential dwelling of up to 2200 square feet, and the cost would go up depending on square footage, as well as separate buildings on a property, such as a detached garage, tool shed, detached apartment, and other similar type buildings.
  2. How long does a home inspection take to perform, and do i have to be there the whole time? A thorough, In-Depth Home Inspection should take a minimum of 2 hours to complete on site, and the larger the home, the longer the inspection. It's not necessary that the client be at the property during the inspection, but it is beneficial for the client to be present in case there are any questions about the condition of the home, or any of it's components.
  3. What is the purpose of a home inspection? A home inspection is performed in order to provide the clients with an understanding of the property conditions, as inspected, at the time of the inspection.
  4. What are your qualifications to perform home inspections? The In-Depth Home Inspection inspector is American Home Inspections Training Institute(AHIT) certified, and licensed North Carolina Home Inspectors Licensure Board (NCHILB). In-Depth Home Inspections is fully insured to the standards set forth by the NCHILB. In-Depth Home Inspections also operates within the Standards of Practices set forth by the NCHILB.
  5. What's the turn around rate to receive my home inspection report? Once the inspection is completed on-site, it will be processed, reviewed, and made ready to send via email. A written report is also available. You will have your inspection report within 24 hours of the completed inspection appointment.
  6. Do the utilities need to be on for the inspection? The electricity should have be on for at least 24 hours in order to inspect the HVAC's functionality. The water should be on in order to test functional flow, as well as functional drainage. An inspection can be done without utilities, but not a thorough one, and certainly not an In-Depth Home Inspection!
