Why Share This Piece Of Evidence & Why Now?

I chose to share this piece of evidence because I feel that I can determine the authors message and/or theme of a story, drama, or poem from details in the text, including how characters in a story or drama responds to challenges or how the speaker in a poem reflects upon a topic ; summarized in the text. For example in my SDM I was able to explain the main point in each chapter. Also I wanted to share this because I feel that I can determine the meaning of the title. For example in my test I determined that the title SING DOWN THE MOON is like their sun. For example they used it to guide them away from the Spainards. One last reason I wanted to share these are because I feel that I can also explain how a series or chapters fit together. For example in chapters 4,5,&6, I can summarize them as Running Bird & Bright Morning being captured by the Spainards & taken for slavery.

I chose to share this piece of evidence because I feel that I can introduce a topic clearly. For example in the beginning of my mo'olelo of my mauna, I said " Do you know what is happening on our mauna? Well if you don't, it's the TMT. in other words, the Thirty Meter Telescope." So I was able to explain that what is going on, on Mauna Kea is the TMT. I also wanted to share this because my concluding statement was related to the information. One last reason is because I developed the topic with facts & other info & examples.

I chose to share this piece of evidence because I feel that I can add & subtract fractions. For example 5 22/33 + 3 11/33 = 9. In my poster I also feel that I can use a visual to explain my thinking. For example Me & Madi did a double number line & the picture from the work sheet ( the one shown on the other side) so that whoever saw it followed along.

How Have I Developed My Mathematical Practices?

How have I developed my mathematical practices? I think about numbers in different way by thinking about how the turn from fraction to decimals to percentages. for example, 25.- 1/4 - 25%. I also can use what I know to solve new problems. For example I used my knowledge of the algorithm to find out how much gas Maria used. One last practice is that I can use strategies to explain my thinking. For example on the poster Me & Madi on the poster we used a double number line. We used that to find out how much gas she used.
