Contemporary Harmonic Analysis and its Synergies (CHAS) is a research program organized within the Simons Semester initiative, running from August 1st to September 30th in Wrocław, Będlewo, and Warsaw

Harmonic analysis is a field of mathematics that originated from the theory of Fourier series, pioneered by Jean B. Fourier in the early 19th century. Its fundamental concept involves decomposing a studied object into a sum/integral of simpler or basic components, often referred to as "frequencies". The methods of harmonic analysis have wide-ranging applications not only in mathematics but also in various real-life technologies.

The semester is organized by the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and co-organized by the University of Wrocław.
