Euan Bonner is a technology researcher and media literacy lecturer at the Centre for Learning and Teaching Innovation, Kanda University of International Studies, Japan. He specializes in studying emerging technologies and their possible uses within language education. As an application developer, he has created numerous research tools to aid in his research, utilizing technologies such as smartphones, web-apps, virtual reality, augmented reality, and large language model artificial intelligence. Euan has also led and collaborated on several projects funded by Japanese ministry of education grants, exploring VR, AR and makerspaces in language learning and measuring real-time student engagement in the classroom. Originally from the Isle of Skye Scotland, he grew up in Newcastle, Australia and has now lived in Tokyo for over 15 years.
Brent Warner is an award-winning community college professor focusing on integrating technology and innovation into the language learning process. He works with teachers and organizations across the globe to provide practical advice for helping English Language Learners take advantage of tech to help them communicate more clearly. He blogs about technology integration in the ESOL classroom for TESOL International, and he is the co-host of The DIESOL Podcast, focusing on innovation in ESOL. He also recently launched AIinESL.com, a site focused on helping teachers understand how we can use Artificial Intelligence in the language learning classroom.
Dr. Wakako Kobayashi received an Ed.D. in TESOL from Temple University in the USA. She is currently a professor at Nihon University in Tokyo and serves as the vice director at Global Research and Education Center there. Her interests include sociocultural theory, extensive reading, and the implementation of COIL.
Dr. Sangmin-Michelle Lee received her Ph.D. in Language Education from Pennsylvania State University, USA. She is currently Professor of Global Communication at Kyung Hee University, Korea. She has published extensively on language learning in a technology-enhanced learning environment, machine translation, L2 writing, game-based learning, and digital creativity.
Dr. Marco Romano, Associate Professor of Computer Science at the International University of Rome - UNINT, coordinates research on virtual and augmented realities for enhanced education. With Ph.D.s in Computer Science (Italy) and Computer Engineering (Spain), his focus includes HCI and the impact of emerging technologies on people's quality of life.
Weijian (Michelle) Yan is Ph.D student in Learning Design and Technology program at Purdue. She is interested in integrating emerging technologies, especially VR into second language learning and teaching, language testing and cross-cultural communications. She is also investigating how to adopt system thinking perspective to design immersive learning experience.
Dr. Jenny Robins teaches German 1, 2, 3, and 4 at Uni High in Urbana, IL and recently earned her PhD from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in the fields of applied linguistics and language theory. In addition to teaching German, Jenny has extensive experience in teaching English as a foreign language. She is always interested in applying new technology in foreign language classes.
Hillary Veitch has been an educator for 10 years and has been a part of the Rantoul Township High School Language team for 2 years. She currently teaches ESL 1, ESL 2, and ELL Resource.
Jessica Briggs is currently teaching French at Mahomet - Seymour High School in Central Illinois. She teachers novice to advanced learners (French 2 - AP) and has been experimenting integrating VR activities into her classroom.
Robyn Brinks Lockwood is a Lecturer at Stanford University. She teaches academic courses to international students. She is also a textbook writer and teacher trainer whose publications include two books on flipped classrooms.
Devin Ferreira has been an ESL Instructor at UCF’s Intensive English Program (IEP) for the past 9 years. He is currently an Associate Instructor and teaches a variety of academic skills to students across all levels and cultures, and has recently introduced VR into his language classroom.
Pamela Vittorio is an Associate Teaching Professor at The New School, Parsons School of Design. She teaches Advanced English to multi-lingual, international students. She has authored several ESL and TOEFL textbooks and scripted educational videos for major publishing companies.
