Meet Miss Schmidt

Hi!  I'm very excited to be a part of the ILS family as one of the First Grade teachers for the 2023 -2024 school year. 

I am originally from Buhl. I attended school at Clover Trinity Lutheran School and then moved to Buhl High School where I graduated from. I attended Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska where I received my BS in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I took my first call to teach at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and Child Development Center in Mountain View, California were I taught both preschool and kindergarten. I later took a call to serve at Littlest Angels Preschool and Bethany Lutheran Church in Menlo Park, California where I taught pre-kindergarten as well as served in many other ministries within the church.  I returned to the Magic Valley in 2015 to be closer to my family. 

When I'm not teaching I enjoy being involved in various other activities. I enjoy riding my bike, reading, hanging out with family, friends, my cat Joiya and my dog Ordei,  gardening, and sleeping. I am blessed to have 2 nephews here in the valley and I have a great time hanging out with them. 

I am looking forward to my ninth year here at Immanuel Lutheran School in first grade. I pray that we all will have a great year growing and learning together.
