Initial Level C Volunteer Info
To ensure a safe, respectful, and mission-aligned environment, all volunteers are REQUIRED to maintain current Level C volunteer clearance through the Diocese of Raleigh before volunteering.
To become a Level C volunteer, you MUST do the following BEFORE starting your volunteer role:
STEP 1: Background Check
To get directions on how to access the background check application online, please fill out the form below.
STEP 2: Safe Environment Training
Register for an upcoming Safe Environment Training course by clicking this link. Upon completion of the training, you will receive a certificate. Please email that certificate to school@icdurham.org. Trainings are only offered ONCE a month.
STEP 3: References
We will need the name, email, and phone number of three references.

Annual Renewal Level C Volunteer Info
All current Level C volunteers must complete a annual renewal course between July 15 and September 15 to maintain active clearance.
You will receive a reminder email from the Diocesan Safe Environment team during the renewal period with directions on how to take the Safe Environment renewal course.
The renewal course is an online, on-demand class that you can complete on your own time. It takes approximately 45 minutes to complete.
