The goal of Math Olympiad is to promote enthusiasm and love for mathematics, explore mathematical concepts, develop problem-solving strategies, develop mathematical flexibility in solving problems, nurture mathematical creativity and ingenuity, have fun in encountering, engaging, and endeavoring in new challenges.

Science Olympiad is a competition in which team members become experts on various topics, construct devices, and perform lab activities. Student teams prepare their events and compete with other schools in the area at regional competitions in the spring. Students will work to construct devices, practice lab skills, and study for their specific topic. We will meet weekly to share ideas and discuss challenges.

Middle School Battle of the Books is a nationally known program for middle school students, grades 6-8. Students read books from a list established by the North Carolina State Battle of the Books committee through the NCSLMA. Student teams compete in quiz-bowl-style tournaments to test their knowledge of these books.
This team promotes unity and leadership values. We compete within Region 9 which represents independent schools throughout the state of North Carolina. In joining this team you have entered a group of elite students who enjoy reading and the adventure reading brings.
