In Preschool, much of our focus will be on music and movement. We will sing, dance, and move to the music in fun ways. We will learn simple rhythm patterns, call & response, and echoing. We will begin exploring rhythm instruments (shakers, tambourines, rhythm sticks, etc.).

In 1st grade, we will continue to expand our singing skills. We will also begin learning basic elements of music such as tempo, dynamics, pitch, and timbre. Students will learn basic rhythmic notation, and will play a variety of classroom instruments.
In 2nd Grade, we will continue to expand our singing skills. We will also begin learning basic elements of music such as tempo, dynamics, pitch, and timbre. Students will learn basic rhythmic notation, and will play a variety of classroom instruments.
In 3rd grade, students will continue reading rhythmic notation, but will also begin learning note names and melodic notation! We will continue singing - learning rounds, partner songs, and simple harmonies. We will continue to play classroom instruments, and will learn recorders!
In 4th Grade, students will continue reading rhythmic notation, but will also begin learning note names and melodic notation! We will continue singing - learning rounds, partner songs, and simple harmonies. Students will play classroom instruments and work together as an ensemble playing tone chimes (similar to handbells).
