5th Social Studies

The curriculum in 5th grade Social Studies is largely a "Survey" of American History.  We will cover many major events/eras of US History, but may not necessarily go into as much detail as in 7th/8th grade/high school. We will start the school year with an overview of the geography of the United States, then proceed into the historical elements of the US, beginning with Native American tribes, cultures, etc. 

Students should expect to have one project per unit, while being provided with the opportunity to complete the vast majority of these projects during class time.  Note-taking, homework, quizzes/tests, multimedia, etc. are also important elements of the curriculum.
