We always recommend that students:
Charge the laptop fully each night - it may also be used while plugged in
Use the laptop in a common area of the house - avoid using outside
Use the laptop on a desk or table - avoid using or leaving it on floors
Keep the laptop away from food, liquid, and pets

As the Chromebook laptop is District property, the Student Device and Use Agreement is in effect for the duration of the loan. All district settings and controls will apply. Student web content is filtered, but parents/guardians are ultimately responsible for monitoring the student’s use and browsing activity of the laptop.
Try these steps first, they might make it easy to fix your issue:
Do all of these steps, in order, to solve many issues you might be having:
Remove every extension, game, background, mouse pointer, theme, proxy, etc. that is not school related. Students love to download and install this stuff and it slows down the computer and causes other problems.
Double check that the Chromebook has the latest chrome browser installed. (click here to learn how)
Clear the browsing data (click here to learn how).
Turn the computer completely off (shut down the computer in the Chrome OS or hold the power button until there are no fans or lights).
Turn the computer back on and try again.

If you are still having problems, please contact the iMiddle Tech Guy at amemory@sandi.net.
***If you already have a device that is not working or is broken, we CAN NOT exchange it at school. This is a district policy. Instead, contact the Online Learning Support Line at

Updated Troubleshooting for joining Authenticated Meetings
These three problems solving procedures will resolve most issues when joining authenticated Zoom meetings from a district Chromebook. Please try in order. For example, if #1 doesn’t work, try #2. If #2 doesn’t work, try #3.

If you are still having problems, please contact your teacher first. There could be something specific to your class (link, password, etc.) that they can help with.
Students use their student ID # and their Active Directory password (this is the same login information used to log in to sandi.net on their computer) to get into PowerSchool. Parents can use this as well or create their own Parent account.
Click here to get to the login screen. If you would like assistance creating an account there are step by step instructions (written and video, English and Spanish). To see these, click on the "Create Account" tab. It will say to contact the school for the Access ID and Password for your student. For that information (or for any other questions) please email Adrien Memory amemory@sandi.net.

It would be a good idea to occasionally go to any SDUSD site (it doesn’t have to be Innovation Middle School), connect to the I21WIRELESS network, and restart your computer (restarting works better than shutting down) through the Chrome OS. These computers are meant to be on the I21WIRELESS network a lot, but that isn’t happening if the students are at home.
This is not some emergency where we need to get all students out to do this. The computers should work without this, but this could make things run smoother. This would get your Chromebook any updates that the district is pushing out.
As for connecting to I21WIRELESS, it should be already set on all student computers to connect automatically. If it is not and you need help, email the tech guy at amemory@sandi.net.
