Preschool

The Indiana Migrant Education Program's Preschool activities were built to help provide teachers with options to teach foundational social and academic skills. The "menu" of activities is broken into 7 weeks to cover the typical length of one of our summer schools.

*Please note that this project is a work in progress. Ideas, lessons, and resources are constantly growing, changing, evolving, and improving.

The Preschool "skeleton"

We lovingly call what we've made for our preschool teachers the preschool "skeleton" because it is the backbone for which our professional teachers add "meat" to. This is not a prescribed curriculum with lessons plans laid out detailing the teacher's every minute. As a popular saying states, "Giving a teacher a prescribed curriculum is like asking an artist to paint with a color by number book." This is meant to serve as a list of resources for a teacher to choose from to meet the needs of the students in the class. You're the professional! Make it work for your class. We've just tried to help simplify the amount of work and searching for work you need to do!
