Vision

Provide citizens with sustainable, low-energy consumption and non hardware-obsolescent software.

Goals

Main scientific challenges

  • Propose a framework to describe and store Software Supply Chains;

  • Based on this model, provide tools and techniques that assist developers in their choices to produce sustainable software.

Milestones

  • Complete a proof of concept (a more energy-efficient version of well known framework);

  • Devise a reliable strategy to measure energy consumption of packages and frameworks;

  • Define a model to represent software dependencies and energy consumption information (e.g. Green S-BOM);

  • Evaluate algorithms to build software based on optimization parameters (e.g. energy consumption, performance);

  • Develop a tool to visualize, simulate and reconfigure software dependencies based on multi-objective settings.
