Workshop 2025
The THUS Workshop 2025, held between October 15 and 17 at the Maison du CNRS on the USP campus, was a success and included the participation of partners such as FAPESP and the companies Dassault Systèmes and SiDi.
Participants heard two main invited talks: Dominique Baillargeat (CNRS@CREATE Singapore) covered "Intelligent modeling based on Physics and AI dedicated to hybrid twins of cities and territories," and Carlos Galeano (Dassault Systèmes) presented "Urban Referentials: Connecting Planning, Impacts, and Operations." Glauco Junquera (SiDi) also provided an update on the company's efforts towards regulatory compliance.
The four project teams, UNBIAS, SYNERGY, CHAINS, and MEGALÓPOLIS, had the opportunity to work in person to advance their research. The event included detailed Break-out Work sessions and progress reports, focusing on their "Past, Present & Future" trajectories, culminating in the definition of Action Points.

Disclaimer and Warning
Brazil is currently experiencing a serious situation concerning the contamination of counterfeit distilled alcoholic drinks with Methanol alcohol. This substance is highly dangerous as it transforms into a poison upon interaction with the human body, potentially causing blindness and other severe health conditions, including death, within 48 hours.
The Brazilian Ministry of Health has registered 113 reported cases (including 12 fatalities) under investigation (here), with the city of São Paulo accounting for over 90% of the incidents.
Cases have been reported even in bars located in affluent areas of São Paulo. It is strongly recommended (here) to avoid the consumption of distilled alcoholic drinks unless their origin and authenticity can be confirmed with certainty. The decision to assume the risks associated with the consumption of these drinks during this delicate period remains entirely under individual responsibility.
