About ACM SAC 2027
For the past forty years, the ACM Symposium on Applied Computing has been a primary confluence for researchers in applied computer science, computer engineers, software engineers, and application developers worldwide. SAC 2027 is sponsored by the ACM Special Interest Group on Applied Computing (SIGAPP).
Track on Cloud Continuum
The ACM SAC 2027 Track on Cloud Continuum welcomes paper submissions on all aspects of cloud computing research and applications, emphasizing those describing research on different forms of virtualization techniques as applied to systems computing.
Cloud computing has become a common commodity with many different providers and solutions. Several new models are being developed and applied to ensure scalability, quality of service, and resilience. The models focus both on the providers, optimizing the use of their infrastructure, and on the users' side, optimizing the response times and/or costs. This scenario is becoming more complex with the possibility of having computing power close to the users on edge/fog models. All this scenario can be seen as the Cloud Continuum.
There are already some conferences that have the Cloud Continuum in their call-for-papers. However, only some of them have explicitly focused on the applications, the goal of our track. We aim to attract a broader range of papers, from software engineering to High-Performance Computing applications. All of them will be discussed in the Cloud Continuum scenario.
The following list includes some of the major topics that we plan to focus on this year in this track.
Energy Efficiency
AI-powered Services
Security
IoT Applications
Architectural Models
Serverless Computing
Elasticity
Storage virtualization
Sustainable Models
Programming Models
QoS for Applications
Cloud Infrastructure for AI
Optimization and Performance Issues
Communication Protocols
Big Data
High-Performance Computing Applications
Innovative Cloud Applications and Experiences
Availability and Reliability
Microservices
New models (like spot instances)
Frameworks and APIs
HPC as a Service
Cloud-based Agentic Architecture
This track welcomes all related research to Cloud Continuum, including theoretical models, algorithms, benchmarks, practical results, experiments, and frameworks for cloud computing applications.
Submission Guidelines
The submissions should be in electronic format (PDF), based on original, unpublished work. The author(s) name(s) and address(es) must not appear in the body of the paper, and self-reference should be in the third person. Only the title should be shown at the first page without the author's information. Peer groups with expertise in the tracks focus areas will blindly review submissions. Accepted papers will be published in the annual proceedings and ACM digital library. Submission guidelines can be found on SAC 2026 Website.
Prospective papers should be submitted to the track using the EasyChair submission system. Regular papers and Poster papers are limited to 8 and 3 pages, respectively. A few key words should be provided. A paper cannot be sent to more than one track. Original manuscripts (regular papers) should be submitted in electronic format on the Cloud Continuum Track.

ACM's Key Policies
In participating SAC 2027, you acknowledge ACM's Policy Against Harassment at ACM Activities and agree that behavior such as the following will constitute grounds for actions against you:
Abusive action directed at an individual, such as threats, intimidation, or bullying
Racism, homophobia, or other behavior that discriminates against a group or class of people
Sexual harassment of any kind, such as unwelcome sexual advances or words/actions of a sexual nature
If you are involved in or witness any such incident, please inform the event organizers.
SAC No-Show Policy
Paper registration is mandatory to include papers and posters in the conference proceedings. An author or a proxy attending SAC MUST present the paper. This requirement applies to all accepted papers, posters, and invited SRC submissions for inclusion in the ACM digital library. In case of personal circumstances preventing physical attendance, online presentation is allowed, ensuring the paper's inclusion in the ACM digital library. Note that no registration refund will be issued to no-show authors.
Copyright Notice
As instructed in the author kit, authors will receive an email from ACM that contains info on how to complete and submit the copyright. The email from ACM contains a link to the copyright webpage where authors will need to check the title and author names of their paper, correct them if wrong, and then submit the completed copyright form to the ACM system by clicking a submit button. Authors need to upload the final camera-ready copies (papers, posters, and SRC abstracts) to the submission system so that they are verified for inclusion in the proceedings.
