I went to Discusland company to take some samples and they explained me the functioning of the RAS system they are using for culturing discus fish.

I was involved in a master thesis project sampling and in a PhD sampling as well. For the first, we were looking for an invasive species of mussel (Limnoperna securis) in two different locations of the Basque Country.

I helped in a growth performance by measuring and weighting fish of a feed size trial for a master thesis inside the same project as mine (AKURA).

Also in the AKURA project, I had the opportunity of taking part of a temperature testing with two recirculating aquaculture systems and introducing bacteria de novo to the system. I had the aim of assessing the time of activation of the nitrifying bacteria to be ready to introduce fish in the tanks. More time than I stayed was needed, so the responsible PhD continued the test.
