Practical Work

We went sampling in different locations of La Riviera del Conero to assess the diversity of the algae in the region. We went sampling in:

• Piscinetta (Passetto) - 17/05, 25/05, 22/06

• Molo Nord (The Harbor of Ancona) - 03/06

• Scalaccia - 10/06

• Piscine Del Trave - 15/06

All sampled algae were identified one by one using microscopes and identification keys. Often it was necessary to make sections and slides of the algae to be able to identify them properly. All identified algae were logged in an excel file in which the main information of the sampled algae were noted. During my professional practice I sampled 130 algae, which contained 59 different species.
