To distinguish between species, a close examination of the different pores and texture is needed. This is only possible by using a microscope with a large magnification like the SEM which is why we took pictures of the selected specimen with the SEM to further identify them.

This microscope is able to magnify the samples up to one million times while preserving an incredible amount of details. I was very amazed at the power of this microscope and was really happy I got to use this microscope to take pictures.
