Creating with Nature: Nature Altars

This introduction to Nature Altars is a magical gathering where we provide inspiration and instruction for building a Nature Altar based on the teachings of Day Schildkret's Morning Altars practice. Nature Altars can bring meaningful ways to connect to a specific place, clearing a circle of earth as a way of clearing our mind, creating from our center, and at the end, letting it all go.

In this gathering, we ground individually or in community and review the format for practice from the book "Morning Altars." After we learn about the philosophy behind them, we will wander around nature spaces working in reciprocity with Nature, then create individual or group Nature Altars. Afterwards, we will have an option to share our inspiration and creations with the group if desired.

Rhonda was introduced to to Morning Altars in 2020 by a dear friend and has been leading individuals and groups in creating Nature Altars to mark transitions, celebrations, and reconnecting to the natural world ever since! This experience is a powerful reminder of how impermanent beauty can become nourishment for our spirits.

imagineWork’s Nature Altars program is ideally suited for individuals who:

"We are debris arrangers. Equipped with what we have inherited, we try to make a life, make a living and make art. We are assemblers. We forge received parts into meaningful compositions. The state of affairs is our plight and our destiny, but it also offers the opportunity to find meaning as well as to find communion with others." - Anne Bogart
