EXPECTATIONS
LONESTAR MODEL UN is a learning space. Since we are committed to creating a positive and educational environment for all delegates, we expect the conference participants to behave professionally when they act, speak, and present themselves. We expect all participants (delegates, faculty members, conference staff, school administrators, and guests) to act guided by the conference values:

Show and act with respect, decorum, and courtesy in all of the spaces (committee rooms, school property, hallways, lobby, ceremony spaces)
Attend the committee sessions
Communicate ideas, needs, and concerns with professionalism, emotional intelligence, and tact
Use social media, technological devices, and other resources with responsibility
Respect the dress code of (ILTexas) and LoneStar Model UN
Act with academic honesty and personal integrity
Respect the regular rules and expectations of the ILTexas community
Delegates
Act with consistency (by realistically representing the point of view, policies, and strategies of their assigned countries)
Respect the ideas, statements, and proposals of other delegates, even when they contradict the position of the delegate’s country and its national priorities, and parameters
Listen actively and empathetically
Work collaboratively with fellow delegates
Teach others something at every opportunity
Speak and contribute to the committee discussions
Use the conference resources appropriately (home government, printing services, internet connection, etc.)
Report conflicts and emergency situations
Conference Staff
Exhibit and set the example with an exemplary conduct (effective leadership, humbleness, advocacy (democratic principles), service-oriented approach, decorum, academic excellence, diplomatic values), global interests, fairness, and good judgment
Enforce the Rules of Procedure
Follow the guidelines provided by Osgood/ILTexas
Stick to the established procedures and use the criteria provided
Participate in the debriefing mini-conferences
Ask for support, if needed
Report any and all items to Home Government staff
