Lithograph on paper
Gift of Michael Schneiderman
A lithograph is a print made by drawing on a flat stone or metal plate with a sticky crayon. Then the stone is wetted with water and before ink is rolled on. Oil and water do not mix. The oily ink sticks to the crayon but not the wet stone. The image is pressed onto paper in a printing press.
