Research

In my research, I aim to enhance understanding of connections between sites of science communication, including writing instruction in STEM, writing across the curriculum (WAC) programs, and public participation in science. I argue that expanding our view of scientific communication helps construct more accessible forms of science that account for diverse identity and multiple avenues of knowledge-building. I bring this focus to two central strands of my work, which I discuss in more detail in the links below: my dissertation on citizen science communication practices, and my role as a Research Assistant with Writing Across Engineering and Science (WAES).
