Teaching

In Summer 2023, I won the Postdoctoral Scholar Excellence Award for Teaching and Mentoring Students  at ISU.

In Spring 2023, Kristopher Lee and I designed and led a new course for senior math majors at ISU, Mathematical Communication, which teaches students to present mathematical ideas in written, oral, and visual form (using LaTeX).

In Spring 2021, Fall 2022, and Spring 2024, I supervised Honors contracts for Math 265 (Calculus 3), Math 267 (Differential Equations and Laplace Transforms), and Math 314 (Graph Theory) at ISU.

In Fall 2019, I won the Brahana TA Instructional Award from the UIUC Math Department.

In Summer 2018, I developed and taught a week-long course, From Snowflakes to Seashells: Exploring Fractals, for 10th-12th grade students at the Summer Illinois Math Camp with the help of two undergraduate assistant instructors.

In Spring 2018, Jeremy Tyson and I designed and led a new course for first- and second-year math and statistics majors, Introduction to Undergraduate Mathematics, in order to create a better sense of community among the undergraduates in the department, and to inform the students about opportunities within and beyond UIUC. The class featured math talks by faculty, panels of graduate students on topics like REUs and study abroad programs, and professional-development workshops. We recruited nearly 50 volunteers (8 faculty members and 40 graduate students) to help run these events throughout the semester.
