High School Classes: iLEAD vendors offering AP and high-rigor courses:
iLEAD Engage - Live or Flex; taught by iLEAD EFs; PBL is built in!
Classical Learning Resource Center (secular courses only)
Concurrent Enrollment: High school learners can attend community college courses via concurrent enrollment. Keep in mind that learners must be enrolled in a minimum of four classes with iLEAD. Please work with your EF and academic counselor to be sure all requirements are being met. Concurrent enrollment tuition is free, but books and supplies are not covered and cannot be purchased with iLEAD funds.
See more info on the Hub:
ELA: Support writing assignments utilizing iLEAD's writing resources. Publish student work via KQED's Show What You Know, a great project with an authentic audience (seriously, there are some great resources in there!). You can use Tracy's teacher code to submit projects: 3ZD394ZX.
Math: Challenge with math contests, math circles, and other math programs.
Social Studies: US & Western history, economics & political science (Government) must be taken during high school. Offered through iLEAD Engage.
Science: If high school courses were completed in middle school, take AP and concurrent enrollment courses. Join iLEAD's Dream Up to Space program.
Electives: Take classes in areas of interest via concurrent enrollment or possibly via Massive Open Online Courses (Coursera or edX); work with your EF to plan for the year.
iLEAD Gifted Peer Groups: Learners meet in a supervised Zoom once a month to learn about and share experiences with being gifted, interest-led conversation, and games. Special meetings might include chats with scientists from the Skype a Scientist program or learner presentations on topics of special interest. High school learners can become mentors for younger learners. Email Tracy Edmunds if you are interested: tracy.edmunds@ileadexploration.org.
