Section 4: Revise, Reflect, & Apply
Up until this point in the module you learned how to integrate Social-Emotional Learning into your lesson and instruction. During this section,you will reflect individually and as a group and work on your lesson plan.
Directions: Begin to build your lesson using the resources and videos focused on the topic of SEL in the classroom. Incorporate the concepts you’ve digested to date into your selected lesson plan. Consider the types of resources (handouts, slide decks, tutorial videos, etc.) needed to bring these new elements to life in a classroom setting.
Revision Steps:
Consider the students in front of you now and the needs your students have..OR a lesson that is flat and does not result in student voice or persistence:What is one Social and Emotional Learning Competency for your lesson that would improve this?
Build that competency into your lesson plan in the SEL Standard Box
Consider learning activities or structures that will successfully help incorporate that competency into your new lesson.
Complete this SEL revision using the CFE lesson plan template (Link). When you are done, link your updated lesson to this assignment.
