Coach Bill Miller Scholarship:

Bill Miller was a coach, teacher, principal, and activities director for 33 years at Manilla and IKM Community Schools. Coach Miller contributed to the school community for 40 years before his death on November 29, 2012.

The recipient of this $500 scholarship should be a student who exhibits the following characteristics/qualities:

Does everything he/she can do to help herself/himself.
May not always do everything right but will never quit and eventually will do the right thing.
Is involved in extracurricular activities.
Competes/performs to the best of his/her abilities.

LifeSkills Connection is a proud family & veteran owned, small business, based right out of Manning, IA. Steve & Sheila Reitan began this business with the intention to inspire others to build and grow their lives and careers. LifeSkills has many missions within their company, one being the development of Job Corps Centers. Both Steve and Sheila had careers in the Job Corps world directly on centers, assisting students in developing trade and technical skills as well as learning to overcome obstacles in their lives. They now oversee multiple Job Corps contracts and two healing and counseling centers. Carroll County Cattlemen's Youth Leadership Scholarship CLOSED

This $1500 scholarship is available to any individual who is a graduating High School senior and is planning to attend any post-secondary school, or to an individual who is already attending post-secondary school and continuing their education in the fall. We are limiting the scholarship to be received only twice per applicant.

2. The Scholarship applicant will be chosen at the discretion of the Carroll County Cattlemen’s Association Board of Directors. An application shall be completed and returned by April 14, 2023 with a copy of academic records.

3. The scholarship applicant’s parents must also be members of the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association with a paid membership for Carroll County by the time applications are due.

One or more scholarships up to $5,000 each will be awarded annually. Students enrolled full-time in an accredited medical or osteopathic school, and are from Carroll, Audubon, Calhoun, Crawford, Greene, or Sac counties are encouraged to apply. Scholarships will be applied toward tuition, books, and/or equipment. Preference is given for students who demonstrate an interest in practicing in Iowa and especially in a rural regional setting such as St. Anthony Regional Hospital. Iowa Association of Municipal Utilities (IAMU) Scholarship (Utility Focused) CLOSED

Each $2,000 scholarship will be distributed to the educational institution. To apply, candidates must fill out and submit the scholarship application. Applications are due March 6, 2023 to scholarship@iamu.org. A minimum of 4 scholarships will be awarded. IAMU will announce the award recipients by May 1, 2023.

To be eligible for consideration, candidates must:

· Live in a residence that is a verified customer of an IAMU member or attend a high school that is a verified customer of an IAMU member. If you are unsure whether your local area is an IAMU member, contact your city hall.

Lynette Ludwig Memorial Nursing Scholarship CLOSED

The family of Lynette Ludwig has announced a memorial scholarship for area students pursuing the nursing field. Up to two $500 scholarships will be awarded to eligible students who will be enrolled in an accredited nursing program in the fall of 2023. Eligible students include those that graduate high school this spring or are currently enrolled in a nursing program and have a permanent address in Crawford County or within the Ar-We-Va School District.

Northwest Iowa League of Cities High School Senior Scholarship Program-CLOSED

The program is open to any high school senior residing in a NWILC member community who is pursuing post-secondary education which may result in service to city government. For the 2023 application period, the League is planning to award up to five scholarships of $1,000 each.

FAC Cooperative will offer one scholarship of $500 to be awarded to a student seeking an undergraduate agricultural degree.

Southwest Iowa Educational Foundation Scholarship:CLOSED

The Southwest Iowa Educational Foundation (SWIEF) offers various scholarships to high school seniors for college throughout eligible southwest Iowa high schools.

Application goes live online on February 1, 2023. Students who attend high schools in the counties of Cass, Fremont, Harrison, Mills, Montgomery, Page, Pottawattamie, and Shelby along with students in the high schools of Boyer Valley, Exira-EHK, IKM-Manning, and Southwest Valley are eligible to apply.

Missouri River Energy Services (MRES):

MRES has 2 scholarship programs available to students--

One of the scholarship programs is for students pursuing a career in an electrical lineworker or powerline field at one of the schools designated on the attached flyer - any student at your school is eligible to for apply for this scholarship. This is a one-time scholarship of $2,000 and is not renewable.

The other scholarship program is for students that presently reside in one of the 61 member communities served by MRES. This scholarship is for $1,000 and may be renewed for up to three additional years, for a total of $4,000. This is for students enrolling in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or technical school.

WIMECA/Basin Electric:Iowa Automobile Dealers Foundation for Education Scholarships: CLOSED

Each year, Western Iowa Municipal Electric Cooperative Association (WIMECA) awards an IKM-Manning student with a $1000 scholarship. Interested students must fill out the application form, and must be the child of a Manning Municipal Utilities electric customer.

CLOSED: Crawford County Farm Bureau: Eligibility is reserved for current Iowa Farm Bureau members or their children in good standing with the organization. To be considered, the graduating high school student must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average, be involved in extra-curricular activities, and accepted into an accredited higher education institution, including community colleges and technical schools.

Below is all the information a student should need to know regarding the scholarships available.

Students will no longer have to fill out one application for the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation (IFBF) Scholarship and one for the Carroll County Farm Bureau Scholarship.

One application will serve as an opportunity to receive the state (IFBF) and local (Carroll County) Farm Bureau scholarships available to you.

Through the portal, students will type their application directly into a database where the information will be housed and presented to the Scholarship Committee.

CLOSED:Shelby County Farm Bureau/Iowa Farm Bureau: Applicants of the Iowa Farm Bureau scholarship must be planning to study in either an ag-related field or a field that will support rural Iowa.

**The Shelby County Farm Bureau Board met and has voted to increase the county scholarships. Beginning for 2023 they will be awarding FOUR $1250 scholarships. (previously it was three $1000).

Sons and daughters of Shelby County Farm Bureau members are eligible to apply, and the students' parents must be in good standing with their respective county Farm Bureau and Iowa Farm Bureau. Applicants MUST apply in the county where their Farm Bureau membership is held. One application covers county and state scholarships.
