Dr. Sourav Chakraborty joined the Department of Chemistry at IIT Tirupati in September 2021. He obtained PhD degree in Chemistry from the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, Kolkata in 2016 under the supervision of Prof. Pradyut Ghosh. Right after that, he worked as a Kreitman Postdoctoral Fellow in the group of Prof. Ira A. Weinstock at the Ben Gurion University of the Negev, Israel(2016-2019). He persued the next postdoctoral research in the group of Prof. Ellen Matson at the Department of Chemistry, University of Rochester, New York, USA (2020-2021).

He has authored 26 research articles in reputed science journals, including Journal of American Chemical Society, Chemical Science, Chemical Communication, Journal of Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Angewandte Chemie etc.

His research interests are broadly in supramolecular host-guest chemistry, Metal-oxide clusters, Surface chemistry and Nanomaterials. He is interested to explore the research in the direction of oxygen atom transfer reactions, catalysis, energy storage and carbon dioxide reduction.
