The CORS Hackathon 2026 is a national-level innovation challenge jointly organized by Survey of India (SoI) and IIT Tirupati Navavishkar I-Hub Foundation (IITTNiF) – Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) on Positioning & Precision Technologies under DST’s NM-ICPS Mission, and powered by the Geospatial Intelligence and Applications Laboratory (Geo-Intel Lab). The hackathon aims to unlock the transformative potential of Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) technology by encouraging participants to develop high-precision, real-world solutions across navigation, smart infrastructure, agriculture, disaster management, scientific research, and emerging geospatial applications.
To familiarize participants with the principles and operational framework of Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) and their role in precision positioning.
To encourage innovation by developing solutions that demonstrate the practical and societal relevance of CORS in everyday applications.
To promote awareness of how real-time, high-accuracy GNSS data can be applied to solve challenges in urban planning, agriculture, transportation, disaster management, and infrastructure development.
To foster interdisciplinary collaboration among students, researchers, and professionals from geospatial, engineering, and computing backgrounds.
To stimulate scientific inquiry and promote research-driven problem solving through CORS-enabled technologies for sustainable and resilient communities.
To build capacity in the next generation of innovators capable of leveraging India’s expanding CORS network for national initiatives under Digital India and Viksit Bharat 2047.
Hackathon For Students
