Our research focus centers around solid-liquid and solid-solid interfaces. The various aspects of our research are delineated below:
Interfaces: Solid/Liquid and Solid/Solid
Materials: Intermetallics, High Temperature Alloys and Ceramics (nickel aluminides, silicides, borides and carbides, MAX and MXENES), nanoparticle suspensions
Processing and Phenomena: Solidification, Sintering, Nanopatterning
Properties: Oxidation
Computational Methods: Machine Learning and Materials Informatics; Cellular Automata, Molecular Dynamics, Mathematical Modeling
Experimental Methods: Microscopy and Diffraction, in addition to a variety of solidification, sintering and heat treatment approaches to processing as well as oxidation studies.
