Research overview

Our group focuses on developing novel algorithms for soft-sensing, data reconciliation and process monitoring through use of BIG data techniques as well as through first principles model-based approaches to obtain efficient inferential/predictive models. To account for unknown disturbances in the process, and to maintain the process at economical operating conditions, the developed inferential models are used to further develop intelligent online optimizing control schemes. Here, application areas of interest include processes in oil & gas refinery, oil sands processes, Agricultural process and Energy Storage Systems.
