Present ISME Conference on Mechanical Engineering is the 20th in the series of conferences organized by Indian Society of Mechanical Engineers (ISME). The conference will be held during (19th-21st May, 2022) at Indian Institute of Technology Ropar, Rupnagar, Punjab. To keep abreast of latest developments in the industry, a platform is set-up under the aegis of ISME to organize conferences. The purpose of this conference is to bring together the Mechanical Engineering community to explore, disseminate and strengthen initiatives in new directions under the broad areas of Machine Design, Materials, Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering, and Thermal Engineering. The Conference is aimed at new technological advancements through cutting-edge technologies of Mechanical Engineering.
Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar) located in Rupnagar, Punjab is one of the top technological institute in the country which came into existence as one of the eight new IITs established by the Ministry of Education (MoE), formerly Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India in 2008 to enhance the quality of technical education in the country. It is an Institute of National Importance in the country imparting technical education of high standards with the motto of deploying our intellect in the right direction. The institute has student strength of over 2500. The faculty strength is about 180 across 11 departments. The institute is spread over an area of 525 acres, on the bank of river Sutlej. The campus architecture is inspired by the rich history of Indus Valley Civilization. The institute offers B.Tech, M.Tech, MS, M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs in various departments. The institute is very well linked to other parts of the country through road, rail and air. The campus is nearly 5 km away from Ropar (Rupnagar) railway station and bus stand; and about 45 km to the ‘city beautiful’ Chandigarh (the nearest airport and the capital of Punjab).
