Welcome to our group !Â
Our lab is a diverse group of researchers with background in engineering, physics, and mathematics. We focus on investigating two particular type of hydrodynamic instabilities: viscous fingering (VF) and Kelvin-Helmholtz (KH) instability. Our research is motivated by various industrial applications, including secondary oil recovery, chromatography separation, CO2 sequestration, and food processing and cleaning pipes. We also study how these instabilities are influenced by chemical reactions and adsorption phenomena. Recently, we have also started working on investigating thermodynamic effects on VF and opto-hydrodynamic instabilities. To understand these instabilities, we formulate mathematical models, develop numerical methods and solve using combination of non-linear simulations and linear stability analysis. We also perform experiments and validate our numerical results. Additionally, we conduct theoretical investigations and propose well-posedness for these fluid problems.
We are always looking for new challenges and collaborations. Feel free to visit us, either in person or on the web.
