Synthesis and Applied Semiconductor Nanomaterials Laboratory
We are a nanomaterials synthesis research group working at the interface of chemistry, physics, and materials science, focused on designing functional semiconductor nanomaterials with precisely controlled structure, composition, and interfaces. Our research emphasizes monodisperse metals, semiconductors, anisotropic nanocrystals, and metal–semiconductor heterostructures, including transition-metal–doped and near-infrared–absorbing systems. By understanding crystal growth, surface chemistry, and photophysical behavior, we tailor charge-carrier dynamics and light–matter interactions. These materials are explored for applications in photocatalysis, photovoltaics, electrochemical and photoelectrochemical water splitting, photoelectrocatalysis, single-step organic transformations, and low-cost photodetectors, with the overarching goal of advancing sustainable energy conversion and green chemical technologies.
