Sharing economy, also known as collaborative consumption or access-based consumption, has gained significant attention in recent years, given its potential to disrupt traditional business models. The sharing economy includes various types of business models, such as business-to-customer (B2C), customer-to-customer (C2C), and business-to-business (B2B). While much research has focused on the C2C context, particularly for platforms like Uber and Airbnb, less attention has been given to the B2C context.
The aim of my research is to investigate the motivations and barriers to consumer adoption and abandonment of online furniture renting, specifically with Furlenco. As one of the leading online furniture rental companies, Furlenco provides an excellent example for exploring consumer behavior in the B2C sharing economy context. The findings of this research will contribute to the existing literature on the sharing economy, particularly in the B2C context. Additionally, the study will provide practical insights for companies like Furlenco, helping them to better understand their customers' needs and preferences and ultimately improve their business models.
