Porous Materials Chemistry: Research in my group centres on the development of porous organic materials. We work at the interface of organic synthesis (design and synthesis of novel organic linkers), materials science, and electro/photo/catalytic chemistry. Our research focuses on the rational design of organic building blocks to develop functionalized porous materials, such as metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs). These materials will be applied to the photocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction, the photoreduction of carbon dioxide to useful carbon products, the detection of environmental pollutants, and the development of optoelectronic devices.
