Alternating Electrical Quantities: Concepts of phasors, impedance, real and reactive power, impedance and power diagrams
Diodes: Principle of operation, diode characteristics, diode circuits and applications
Transistors : Principle of operation, concept of biasing, characteristics and applications of transistor, basic amplifier configurations
Operational Amplifiers: Basic model and op-amp specifications, closed-loop negative feedback inverting and non-inverting amplifiers, concept of virtual ground, op-amp applications
Digital Logic: Logic gates, boolean algebra, canonical forms of boolean function representation, minimization of boolean functions using K-maps, combinational and sequential circuit design
Magnetic Circuits: Basics of magnetic circuits, series and parallel magnetic circuits
Single Phase Transformer: Working principle, equivalent circuit, efficiency and regulation, SC and OC tests
Electro-Mechanical Energy Conversion and DC Machines : Principles of energy conversion, types of dc generators and motors and their characteristics, speed control of DC motors
Transducers: Inertial sensors, capacitive, magnetic, hall-effect sensors, ultrasonic transducers, temperature, bridge circuits
Equipment related to Electronics Lab (Function Generator, Digital Storage Oscilloscope, Breadboard) and Electrical Lab (Variac, Wattmeter, Ammeter, Voltmeter, etc.), Online Circuit Simulators (Falstad, Tinkercad)
