JUST OUT! My Springer published Textbook 'Introduction to Ethics: Concepts, Theories and Contemporary Issues' (2023)' [https://tinyurl.com/Chhandac]
This 768 pages well-organized textbook is on western ethics, its various theories and concepts, and also contemporary issues where ethics is needed and applied. The book is rich in content and yet is lucid enough to invite the readers to engage in it.
It covers the three main divisions within ethics: Metaethics, Normative Ethics and Applied ethics.
It brings contemporary issues, such as ethics of human organ transplantation, and presents traditional noremative theories along with the contemporary theories, such as Amartya Sen’s idea on Justice and Martha Nussbaum’s Capability Approach, to engage the readers with ethics in the real world.
The book concludes with applied ethics, but, in keeping with the changing demands of our time, with the example of ethics of artificial intelligence and data science.
