Dr. Sandip Mandal has been working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, India, since December 2021. Before joining the institute, he worked as a post-doctoral researcher at Laboratory IUSTI, Aix-Marseille University, CNRS, France, from September 2018 to July 2021, working with Dr. Olivier Pouliquen and Dr. Maxime Nicolas. He obtained his Doctorate in Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay in 2018, working on the thesis entitled “Rheology and Segregation of Non-spherical Granular Materials” under the supervision of Dr. Devang Khakhar. His research interests are Rheology and Segregation of Granular Media, Rheology of Complex Fluids, and Fluid Mechanics. 

Papri Banthia completed B.Sc. in Mathematics from Berhampore Girl’s College and M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics with specialization in fluid dynamics from University of Kalyani. She joined our group in 2025. She is working on "Stress distributions in granular columns."
