With the advent of precision cosmology, the standard model of cosmology is in tension with observational data. Given the existing discordance with different cosmological and astrophysical probes, there are a few big open questions/issues that hint towards the standard model being an approximation to a more pragmatic scenario yet to be found. We also know the unification of quantum theory and gravity is one of the central open problems in physics. The search for a complete theory of quantum gravity will only be fruitful if one eventually finds a way to test the candidate theories by experiment/observation.
My research work primarily aims to focus on these areas based on the need to answer questions like the existence of a unified theory, the need to go beyond General Relativity, and puzzle around dark matter, dark energy, with the help of fundamental theoretical modifications and numerical simulations in a way that the theory is testable and in concordance with the present and future observational data.
