Resources to organise National Space Day Celebrations
Here, we have given some resources which can be used to conduct the National Space Day celebrations in schools. We have also created another web-page with details on ISRO achievements and important missions which can be accessed at - ISRO- Missions Accomplished.
Schools can print out some of the materials for the space day celebration or else can display them using the projectors provided in the Yajur Vedshala, which includes posters as well as videos the link for which is given at the bottom of this page.
The activities can be performed as below:
1) Play the video in English and/or Hindi on the top of this page.
2) Organise story writing and essay competition for students upto class 6 following the links provided below
3) Organise Space hackathon for Class 9-12 students following the link given below Please note that there is a separate link for the answer to the hackathon. The teachers should use them to evaluate the participants. Resource for conducting the hackathon have been provided as well, in which the students have to identify the craters with the help of a description of the personality given along with the photo of the crater. Further, using the scale mentioned, the students can then calculate the dimensions of the crater in question. The answer key has been given in a separate link.
4) For classes 7-12, organise quiz in both Hindi and English which the schools can print out and can be conducted in either a test format or a rapid answer quiz by forming teams., with their answer keys attached, which schools can use to evaluate. Use the link to the quizzes given below.
5) If time permits, debates can also be organised for suitable classes following the topics given in the web-page.
The session can be concluded by distributing prizes to the winners.
Have a great National Space Day!
