A young interdisciplinary lab at IIT Indore focussed mainly on research related to biology, colloidal science, rheology and microstructure of complex fluids.
Our goal is to study the physical and biological principles that govern how biological systems interact with their environment. We investigate the mechanobiological processes underlying signal transduction, collective behavior, and biofilm assembly in bacterial systems. In parallel, we design and study synthetic active colloids to uncover emergent dynamics in engineered surroundings. We are also interested in how microstructure shapes the rheological properties of macromolecules and colloidal systems. As a young and interdisciplinary research group working at the interface of soft matter, biological physics, and chemical engineering, we are excited to engage with industry partners. We are eager to combine our fundamental insights with real-world applications, working together to tackle open problems and develop innovative solutions across the soft matter and chemical engineering landscape.
