I am a Professor of Economics at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore, where I lead the Innovation Studies Group.
I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from IIT Kanpur. My research interests lie at the intersection of Microeconomics, Economics of Innovation, and International Economics, with a particular focus on R&D, Patenting, Technology Transfer, Foreign Direct Investment, and Intellectual Property Rights.
I have published research papers in international journals of repute like Research Policy, among others. I have received grants from agencies like ICSSR, DST, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Education for research projects, GIAN courses, and organizing workshops. I have been a member of national-level committees concerning Science, Technology, and Innovation.Â
I am particularly interested in understanding how innovation systems function and how policy frameworks can influence technology development and diffusion. My academic journey has been driven by a commitment to producing research that informs both policy and practice, especially in the context of developing economies.
