Gourab Giri

South African Radio Astronomy Observatory Fellow
(Former: Prime Minister's Research Fellow)

Hello and a warm welcome to you here! I am Gourab Giri, currently serving as a postdoctoral research fellow in South Africa under the prestigious SARAO/NRF Fellowship. I obtained my doctoral degree from Indian Institute of Technology Indore, 2023, where I was honored as a Prime Minister's Research Fellow. I am an astrophysicist who is deeply interested in understanding and unraveling the secrets of galaxy evolution in the Universe. I specialize in modeling bend jetted radio galaxies, particularly in exploring their formation and evolution through advanced numerical simulations. My research also encompasses the study of the evolution of massive (elliptical) galaxies resulting from galaxy mergers or interactions.

About Me!

Personally, I am an 'open to all' person who does not want to constrain his soul to the regularities only. I am pretty much interested in any kind of discussion starting from street food exploration to the physics of galaxy evolution in galaxy clusters. I love to write sci-fi and adventure stories. Most importantly, I love to travel places around the world which in turn provide me happiness and plots for my stories. I am also heavily involved in science outreach activities.

Here is something I put for you:
